About New Jersey State Society

Statue of General Washington at MorristownNJSS is a non-profit, non-partisan, 501 (c) (4) tax exempt organization founded in 1941 for Washington area individuals and organizations with business, social, or political ties to New Jersey. The Society fosters educational, cultural, charitable and social activities and provides a networking link between New Jerseyans and former New Jerseyans in government and the private sector. NJSS sponsors or co-sponsors various networking and sporting events throughout the year, as well as the Garden State Inaugural Gala and New Jersey Day at the National Cathedral every four years.

NJSS is affiliated with the Congressionally chartered National Conference of State Societies and has all volunteer leadership. New Jersey Senators and Members of the House of Representatives serve as Honorary Directors of NJSS. NJSS offers individual and family annual membership categories, as well as the opportunity to support NJSS as a corporate or organizational member through platinum, gold, silver, bronze, or education level annual sponsorship packages.
