Festival Activites

The NJSS is part of the National Conference of State Societies (NCSS), which is the coordinating body for the 55 state and territorial societies in the Washington area. The NCSS is the major sponsor and organizer of Washington's annual Cherry Blossom Princess Program. The 2008 festival was held during the first two weeks of April with the Garden State represented by NJSS princess is Anita Singh. Anita marched underneath the New Jersey flag in the festival parade, met with scores of government and business leaders, and participated in dozens of receptions, events, and activities.
